Autometrix Makes Changes to Better Serve our Customers
As the demand for our cutting tables grows, we are happy to announce some additions and changes. Our number one goal is always to solve customer problems with quality, dependable cutting solutions. To this end, we made some additions and changes that we are happy to share today.
Automation Consultants in your region
We have dedicated our key (some of them new) automation consultants – Sidney, Aaron and Rick — to the Midwest, East Coast and West Coast so that our customers in those regions can get timely, personal guidance as they search for the perfect cutting solution
Sidney Sponseller comes to us after his previous stint with Heytex USA (Bondcote), where during his time, Bondcote saw triple-digit growth. Sidney’s strength is understanding the customer’s ROI needs. Sidney is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a BA in Communications.
He is currently working towards a Certificate of Mastery Negotiation at Harvard. Sidney is also a board member of the Tarp Association of IFAI. Sidney enjoys working out, keeping up with friends and family, and travelling. Ask Sidney anything sports and you may either enjoy it or regret it. Sidney is responsible for Central US and Canada Sales.
James Doherty is the newest member of the Autometrix team! James is a U.S. Air Force veteran who has served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He and his wife, Tiffany have two children (Olivia and James IV) and live in Keller TX., a suburb of Fort Worth. Together they enjoy hiking, bike rides, and ending hot summer days with a snow cone. James attended Dallas Baptist University where he received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration and Management.
James has been involved in the industrial fabrics industry for the past 14 years with experience in customer service, product development, product management, and sales. His experience with leading textile manufacturers such as Value Vinyls, Heytex, and Verseidag bring a wealth of market knowledge. He understands your materials are expensive and wants to help you eliminate costly scrap materials by using Autometrix software and cutting equipment. James is responsible for Eastern US and Canada region.
Rick Richardson is responsible for Western U.S and Canada as well as Mexico. Rick has over 22 years of experience in the apparel, sewing machine and (CNC based) cutting machine manufacturing industries. He has a wide breadth and depth of knowledge and has represented software as well as hardware both in the US and Internationally.
Rick is a seasoned Automation Specialist who has spent most of his life in Southern California and loves helping businesses figure out the best solutions to increase their profitability. Rick is an avid golfer and gardener and is excited about exploring his new hometown in Arizona where he and his wife recently relocated to.
In Sales leadership, Truy Pham is taking over as Director of Global Sales and will be overseeing our international distributors as well as providing ongoing guidance to our Automation Specialists. Before Autometrix, Truy worked as an Automation Sales consultant for a leading supplier making thermoplastic welding equipment.
Truy loves cycling and water sports, especially riding bikes and inflatable watercraft made with Autometrix equipment. He is our resident triathlete! He graduated with honors from the University of Akron with a BBA in Marketing. Truy has considerable experience helping many of our customers find solutions that fit their production needs in order to quickly increase their profitability.
Improvements through Innovation
Our engineering department is constantly looking for ways to make our products better, faster, lighter, easier to use, and better suited to address specific customer needs. Everything we do is based on figuring out how to improve our clients’ productivity, precision, and profitability. We have a new engineer who is well suited for this role. Galen Shumaker is a seasoned senior engineer who brings an inquisitive and inventive mind set to the team.
Galen is a Mechanical Engineer with a background in design of stabilized camera systems and television production equipment including electronic enclosures and cooling systems. He is an avid cyclist who started racing at the age of 9. He loves building Legos with his 8 year old son and weekend family adventures like flat-water kayaking on local lakes and reservoirs. Galen has a BSME from Chico State where he was heavily involved in the Human Powered Vehicle team including the year Chico State won the West Coast HPV Challenge. Welcome, Galen!
The Family Legacy Continues
Saving our proudest announcement for the last, we are happy to share that Jonathan Palmer has taken over as the CEO of Autometrix as he carries on the family ownership of Autometrix. Jonathan grew up around and in Autometrix and his work in aspects of production and warehousing influenced his decision to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
After returning to Autometrix as an engineer, Jonathan became more involved in management and began discussions with founder John Palmer about taking on ownership of the company. During the transition, Jonathan served as Chief Technical Officer and managed hardware and software engineering development.
Jonathan looks forward to keeping the focus of Autometrix on quality products and personal customer service to the many companies we serve, while providing a challenging and rewarding place for people to come to work. He cares for the well-being and growth of his employees and knows that the success of the business, employees, and customers are all linked.
I’m excited to see the future of Autometrix – we’re investing heavily in some new products and are working to scale our Sales and Customer Service departments to be ready for what Engineering is bringing to the table! I’m truly looking forward to seeing our customers’ success in the years ahead, and I’m honored to be a part of providing solutions to so many companies around the world.
